Di, one of our volunteers who has COPD, an underactive thyroid and kidney disease, has seen amazing results from the trial

After just three weeks of attending twice-weekly sessions, she noticed significant improvements to her health and well-being. She can now do an extra lap at the gym and increased her time on the exercise bike from 5 to 25 minutes, covering 6.25km!  Di's COPD symptoms have improved, she's sleeping better, feels brighter and has more energy, and her swollen ankles are gone. She can even sprint up the stairs now!

Beyond the physical benefits, Di also made new friends in the program and they're planning a meal out together. Di highly recommends the trial, saying, "If you have the chance give PERFORM a go as I can't believe the difference it's made to my health and wellbeing in just 8 weeks!"

It is great to hear that Di is feeling the benefit of being on the PERFORM trial - We know that structured exercise can help improve people's physical and mental wellbeing through our Cardiac and Pulmonary rehab programs, so it is encouraging to hear similar feedback from our Trial participants.

Could you take Part in the Trial?

Several of the other participants so far have also reported similar results. Our first cohort of participants are just coming to the end of their program so we are due to re-assess them, so we will soon have some data which will hopefully back up the positive feedback we have received. If you are interested in taking part in the trial please contact Paul Boden at [email protected] or scan check out the details on the poster below.
